Welcome back, students! I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach all of you during the 2014-2015 school year. I am hoping to get to know each and every one of you better through fun-filled learning experiences in our classroom.
Rotary is new for most of you. Ask questions, keep organized, and check the homework page each night to ensure you are keeping up with the workload. Time management is critical in the intermediate division. If you are absent, please remember, it is your responsibility to check in with each teacher to see what you missed. Overdue assignments may result in a detention or phone call home, so plan accordingly. Our classroom will be most days during first nutrition break for you to work on assignments, organize your binder, study for upcoming tests, collaborate in groups, and so on. Please take advantage of this opportunity as needed. My door is always open.
Your first assignment is an easy one: please explore this website with your parents, paying close attention to the curriculum, parents, and learning skills pages along the top. I must stress the importance of consistently demonstrating the learning skills and work habits in order to achieve success in all subject areas. If you have a firm grasp of these expectations, you'll be on the right track for attaining your academic goals. Start thinking NOW about how you will earn your Vista Points and strive to make the Honour Roll as June will be here before you know it!
Wishing you all the best for a successful school year.
Mrs. Poisson
P.S. Hope to meet many parents at "Meet the Teacher" September 25th.
